Innate Default
Our innate default is our constantly evolving reasoning shaped by experiences and thoughts, conscious and subconscious. It’s the lens we view our world from — the intuition that kicks in when we make quick decisions.
Certain elements of this default are uncontrollable: socioeconomic circumstances, national laws, the environment we inherit. But there is significant agency over the controllable aspects — choosing my tribe, the conscious choice about the news and essays that I read, and how I choose to react to it all.
I find myself wondering: is my innate default sufficiently futuristic? Am I building the reasoning framework that serves the future I want to live in, or am I optimizing for the present?
